Description
We are seeking a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in our Topeka, KS office to serve as a technical lead and Project Surveyor. Reporting directly to the Survey Manager, this individual will hold "Responsible Charge" for survey projects, ensuring legal defensibility, accuracy, and adherence to state statutes. This position will help facilitate and manage the lifecycle of projects from research to final sealed deliverables.

Duties/Responsibilities
Technical & Legal Authority: Sign and seal professional survey documents (ALTA/NSPS, Boundary Plats, Easement Exhibits). Perform complex boundary resolution analysis and interpret deeds. Fieldwork: Perform specialized field surveying tasks, starting with construction layout and ranging from hydrographic and topographic data collection to control networks and boundary surveys. Travel: Valid Driver’s License required with occasional in-state travel. Research: Conduct comprehensive boundary research and analysis to prepare accurate plats, plans, and legal descriptions. Project Management & QC: Help oversee daily project operations, managing timelines and budgets. Conduct rigorous QA/QC on drafting and field data. Mentorship: Translate scope of work for field crews and mentor Survey Technicians on the path to licensure.
Qualifications
Licensure: Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in Kansas required.
Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in land surveying.
Software: Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble, and MS Office a plus.
Physical Requirement: Able to lift 50 lbs.
