Job Title: Professional Land Surveyor (PLS)
Location: Vancouver, WA
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports To: Principal
Job Summary
We are seeking a licensed Professional Land Surveyor to join our growing engineering firm. This role involves performing and overseeing a variety of land surveying services in support of transportation, utility, residential subdivision, and commercial site development projects.
Key Responsibilities
Perform and manage boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction, and as-built surveys
Conduct field surveys using GPS, robotic total stations, GNNS receivers, drones, and other modern surveying equipment
Prepare and review survey calculations, plats, legal descriptions, and survey deliverables
Coordinate with engineers, project managers, clients, and regulatory agencies
Ensure survey work complies with applicable local, state, and federal regulations
Oversee field crews as needed and provide technical guidance
Assist with project scoping, scheduling, and budget coordination
Maintain accurate project records and documentation
Support business development efforts, including client meetings and proposal input (as appropriate)
Qualifications
Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in Oregon and Washington
Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
Minimum 6 years of land surveying experience
Strong knowledge of surveying principles, boundary law, and mapping standards
Proficiency with survey software such as Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, etc.
Experience with GPS and conventional survey methods
Valid driver’s license and ability to perform fieldwork

Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Self-motivated with a proactive, problem-solving mindset

Potential salary range: $90,000 - $140,000
The salary range represents the typical range for this position. Actual compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
